Marrow takes 8 percent of every payment we process. On a $200 a month athlete that is $16, and it is printed on your screen every time.

What it is

8% of every payment Marrow processes

Every time an athlete pays you through Marrow, 8% of that payment is routed to Marrow as the platform fee. The other 92% goes to your connected Stripe account. The split happens at the moment of payment. You never invoice us; we never invoice you.

The 8% applies to every revenue stream a coach runs through Marrow: monthly programming subscriptions, tipping, paid templates, paid seminars, live class tickets, and class packages. It is the only transactional fee Marrow charges, it applies to every payment Marrow processes, and your subscription is a separate piece.

A worked example

What the math looks like on a $200 athlete

An athlete pays you $200 a month for programming. When their monthly payment runs:

  • $200.00 leaves the athlete's card.
  • Stripe processing fees apply (Stripe's standard rate, around 2.9% + $0.30 for cards).
  • Marrow's 8% platform fee ($16.00) routes to Marrow.
  • The remainder lands in your connected Stripe account, ready to pay out to your bank.

Your subscription

The subscription is a separate piece

The 8% is charged on payments Marrow processes for you. What you pay Marrow for the software is separate, and it is flat. A solo coach is $99 a month. A head coach running their own coaches under them is $349 a month, which opens the Trainers tab, monitoring across the team, and the monthly team fee you set for each coach on your team. A gym is $500 a month per location, with unlimited trainers and no per trainer fee at any team size. Your branded app is included.

The 8% is never charged on the $99, $349, or $500 subscription itself. That is a price you pay us, not a payment we are moving for you.

If we ever raise a price, you keep the price you are paying for 12 months from the day the increase is announced. That is a policy, not a promotion. It covers the tier you are on, and it never applies to the 8%.

When the fee applies

Every revenue stream a coach runs

If money moves through Marrow on your behalf, the 8% applies. That means:

  • Monthly athlete programming subscriptions.
  • One time program purchases.
  • Tipping (when an athlete tips you after a session or class).
  • Live class tickets and class packages.
  • Session packs.
  • Paid templates sold to other coaches in the marketplace.
  • Paid seminars sold to athletes or to other coaches.
  • The monthly team fee a head coach charges a coach on their team.

Inside a head coach team and inside a gym, team fees and member payments run on Marrow. That is a product requirement, and we say it here rather than let you find it at the first charge.

Why we built it this way A flat platform fee charges the same whether your roster grows or shrinks. A percentage means we only earn when you earn. We wrote the long version of that decision if you want the reasoning in full.
