Marrow moves your coaching over in eight steps, from your clients to your check ins. Each step tells you what to get from your old app, reads it, shows you what will land, and adds nothing until you press. Here is what each step can bring, and what stays behind.
Start your switch
When you first set up Marrow, it asks whether you are coming from another app. Say yes and pick the app you use now, or pick another app or a spreadsheet. Your switch opens with its eight steps.
Said no, or skipped the question? Open it again from your dashboard, next to Bring your clients across. You can stop at any step and pick up where you left off.
The eight steps
Your clients
Download your client list from your old app as a spreadsheet and drop it into the importer. Name, email, phone, date of birth, the date they joined you, what they were on and what they pay you come across.
Nobody is invited until you invite them. Each app has its own short guide on the migrations page.
Programs and workouts
Bring a program you saved as a PDF or a Word document, paste its text, or fill in the program template. Marrow reads it, you check every exercise, and it lands in your library as a draft.
Nothing is assigned to a client until you assign it.
Your videos
No app hands over a video library. Upload your original video files, or paste links to videos you host somewhere else.
A video a client sent you can be uploaded and shared with that client only.
Nutrition and meal plans
Bring a meal plan you wrote as a Word document or a text file, or paste its text. A PDF comes across as text you copy out of it.
You read and accept the meal plan disclaimer before the plan is created. The plan stays in your library until you send it, and each client accepts the terms before they see a meal. Check every item against your client allergies and medical conditions.
Daily macro targets come across with the targets template, one row per client. It replaces each client's current targets and keeps their plan, goal and your notes.
Workout history
Fill in the history template, one row per set: the client email, the date, the exercise, and the set, reps, weight, unit, RPE and notes you have.
Each day lands in that client's log as a completed workout, marked as logged by you. Dates are kept. Times are not, so every workout shows at midday on its date.
A weight needs its unit, lb or kg, so nothing is guessed. A date like 03/04/2026 that could be either month first or day first is set aside until you write it as 2026-03-04.
Check ins and progress
Past weekly check ins come across with the check ins template: the client email, the week, a rating from 1 to 5, and what went well, what was hard and any updates.
Body measurements come across with the measurements template: bodyweight, body fat, lean mass, waist, hip, chest, arm, thigh and neck, and back squat, bench and deadlift maxes, each with its unit.
A week or a day that already holds something on Marrow is left exactly as it is. Progress photos stay with your client, who adds them in the Marrow app, because that consent is theirs to give.
Payments and memberships
No app hands a saved card to another one. What each client pays comes across with your client list.
Invite each client right after their last charge on your old app, or set their first charge date to their old billing date, and cancel each person on your old app as they join. Never cancel anyone first. The plans your clients were on can become your memberships.
Done
The last step shows what landed in every step, with a door to where it lives, and what stayed behind. Anything you could not bring yourself, you can send to us and our team brings it across.
What each app lets you take
For the apps below, these are the platforms' own stated limits as Marrow recorded them. Marrow cannot recover what an app will not release.
Trainerize
- In Trainerize open the Clients tab, choose the client states you want, then press Export. It downloads a CSV.
- Trainerize exports five columns: first name, last name, email, phone number and the assigned trainer. That is everything their export carries.
- Trainerize states that workout history, progress statistics, body measurements and programme adherence cannot be exported at all. Marrow cannot recover what their platform will not release.
- Their programmes can be saved as PDFs only, so those come across as documents rather than as Marrow programmes.
TrueCoach
- In TrueCoach open your client list and press Export. TrueCoach emails you a CSV. For archived clients, switch the list to archived and export again.
- TrueCoach exports fifteen columns. Marrow brings across first name, last name, email, phone number, birthday and client state, and sets the rest aside: compliance score, workouts completed, location, timezone, client type, height, weight, unit preference and gender.
- Their client export has no price or plan column, so what each person pays does not come across. Set it on the invite step.
- Workouts are not in the client export. Save what you want out of TrueCoach before you close the account.
Mindbody
- In Mindbody run the client or mailing list report you want, then use Export. Upload the file Mindbody gives you exactly as it downloads. Marrow reads it whether it arrives as a spreadsheet or as the HTML table Mindbody sometimes writes.
- Mindbody does not let a business connect Marrow to their account directly. Their API is opened only to applications Mindbody has reviewed and approved, and Marrow has no such approval, so Marrow does not pretend to have one.
- Their report exports carry contact details and membership names. Attendance history, saved cards and signed contracts stay with Mindbody.
- Their birthday exports are documented to omit the year, so a date of birth often arrives incomplete and Marrow leaves it blank rather than guessing a year.
ERA Fit
- ERA Fit publishes no export tool, so put your client list into a spreadsheet with a header row and save it as CSV. Marrow reads the usual column names without you having to match them by hand.
- ERA Fit publishes no export feature, no migration guide and no developer documentation, so there is no file Marrow can expect a particular shape from. This importer reads a spreadsheet you assemble.
- Their terms do not say what happens to your client data when you leave, so ask them in writing for a copy before you close the account.
- Whatever you can get into a spreadsheet, Marrow will read. Whatever ERA Fit will not release, nobody can recover.
Every other app
TrainHeroic, My PT Hub, PT Distinction, Everfit, Glofox, Wodify, Zen Planner, ABC Fitness, ClubReady, Momence, FitBudd, and any app not listed.
- Marrow has not checked what these apps let you download, so this page promises nothing about their files.
- Your client list comes across from any spreadsheet with a name and an email for each person.
- For programs, meal plans, workout history, check ins and measurements, copy what you have into the templates above.
- Whatever an app will not release, nobody can recover. Ask them in writing for a copy of your client data before you close the account.
What stays behind, whatever the app
- Messages. Every conversation starts fresh on Marrow.
- Saved cards. Your clients add a card when they join.
- Progress photos. Your clients add their own in the Marrow app.
- Bookings. Open your times in scheduling and your clients book again.
- Food diaries your clients kept in another app.
If something looks wrong
Every row that does not come across is listed by its row number in your own file, with the reason. Fix those rows, save, and drop the file again. Nothing is added twice.
A client who is not on your roster yet is set aside, never created. Bring them across in Step 1 first, then drop the file again.
There is no undo button for workout history, check ins or measurements yet, so read the preview before you press.
