Marrow takes 5% of every athlete payment. The fee comes off the top, runs through Stripe automatically, and is locked at 5% for the life of every Founder Cohort account.
5% of every athlete payment
Every time an athlete pays you through Marrow, 5% of that payment is routed to Marrow as an application fee. The other 95% goes to your connected Stripe account. The split happens at the moment of payment. You never invoice us; we never invoice you.
The 5% applies to every revenue stream a coach runs through Marrow: monthly programming subscriptions, tipping, paid templates, paid seminars, live class tickets, and class packages. It is the only fee Marrow charges you.
What the math looks like on a $200 athlete
An athlete pays you $200 a month for programming. When their monthly payment runs:
- $200.00 leaves the athlete's card.
- Stripe processing fees apply (Stripe's standard rate, around 2.9% + $0.30 for cards).
- Marrow's 5% application fee ($10.00) routes to Marrow.
- The remainder lands in your connected Stripe account, ready to pay out to your bank.
Your earnings page inside Marrow shows you the gross, the Marrow fee, the Stripe processing fee, and the net side by side for every payment.
5% is locked for the life of your Founder Cohort account
If you join during the Founder Cohort (first 50 coaches), your 5% rate is locked for life. It does not move when the cohort closes. It does not move if Marrow changes the standard rate later. After the cohort closes, the standard rate for new coaches becomes 8%.
The $49 a month base subscription is a separate piece. That rate is locked at $49 for 12 months from your join date, after which it moves to the standard subscription rate at the time. The 5% application fee is the only piece locked for life.
Every revenue stream a coach runs
If money moves through Marrow on your behalf, the 5% applies. That means:
- Monthly athlete programming subscriptions.
- One time program purchases.
- Tipping (when an athlete tips you after a session or class).
- Live class tickets and class packages.
- Paid templates sold to other coaches in the marketplace.
- Paid seminars sold to athletes or to other coaches.
The 5% does not apply to anything that does not run through Marrow. If you charge a client offline, in cash, or through a separate Stripe account, that revenue is yours alone and Marrow has no claim on it.
