The honest part most pages skip
Your athletes will re enter their card. Here is why.
TrueCoach payments run through Stripe Connect Express provisioned by TrueCoach. The cards on file live in TrueCoach's Stripe account, not yours. We cannot port them. Nobody can.
What that means in practice: every active athlete gets one Marrow invitation by email, sent right after their last TrueCoach charge. They enter their card at the price you set, which takes them about thirty seconds. Plan on ten to twenty five percent of your athletes not completing the re authorization in the first week. That is the spec baseline. The single best mitigation is the coach personally texting the top ten athletes the night before invites go out.
We tell you this on the call because we would rather you switch with realistic numbers than be surprised in week one.

How the move runs
Invite each athlete right after their last charge on TrueCoach, and cancel them there one by one as they join. Never cancel everyone first. Keep the TrueCoach account itself open until the last athlete moves, so your message history stays as a backstop. The step by step guide has every button.

Programs do not come across in an import. You build your top programs in Marrow's editor. We help.
Step 5
Invite after each last charge
Invite each athlete right after their last charge on TrueCoach. They are charged on Marrow the day they join, so there is no free gap and no double month. Or, on a monthly price, set each athlete's first charge date to their old billing date, 3 to 45 days out, and invite everyone at once: they add a card with nothing due today, and Marrow charges them on that date. Three to five athletes first, then the rest. Each gets one email and enters their card at your price.
Step 6
Cancel each as they join
As each athlete joins, cancel them on TrueCoach, one by one. The importer shows "Joined on Marrow on 3 October. Cancel them on your old app." with a Done tick. Never cancel or pause everyone on TrueCoach first.
Step 7
Cutover
Tell your athletes where to log and message you. When the last athlete has joined and been cancelled, close your TrueCoach account.

What does the move cost?
The importer is included in every plan, with no setup fee. With MARROW2026 your membership is free until January 1, 2027.
Will my athletes really need to re enter a card?
Yes. TrueCoach holds the cards in their own Stripe account, not yours. We cannot transfer them. Every active athlete enters their card once from their Marrow invitation. It takes about thirty seconds.
Plan on ten to twenty five percent of athletes not completing the re authorization in the first week. The strongest mitigation is the coach personally reaching out to the top ten athletes the night before invites go out.
What happens to my message history?
TrueCoach does not export messages. Nobody can pull them programmatically. What you can do before you cancel is screenshot any high value threads on your phone and store them where you want.
Athletes start fresh on Marrow with a clean message channel. Most coaches find this is less of a problem than they expected.
Do I need to cancel TrueCoach before I start?
No, and you should not. Never cancel or pause TrueCoach first, because that stops your income until athletes get round to joining. Invite each athlete right after their last TrueCoach charge, and cancel that athlete on TrueCoach once they have joined Marrow. Keep the account itself open until the last athlete moves, so your message history stays as a backstop.
Important: TrueCoach's terms say you lose access to your content on termination. Always extract before you cancel. Export your client list first.
What about my programs and templates?
TrueCoach does not let coaches export programs as structured data. The honest answer is you will rebuild your top programs in Marrow's program editor. We help. Most coaches find Marrow's editor faster than TrueCoach's.
Per athlete workout TXT exports do not come across. Keep the files if you want the history.
What if I want to roll back to TrueCoach?
You can. Nobody is cancelled on TrueCoach until they have joined Marrow, so everyone who has not joined is still on TrueCoach and still billed there. If Marrow does not work for you, stop sending invitations and add back only the athletes you already moved. Most rollbacks would happen within the first week.
We do not lock you in. The flat $99 rate and the free importer stand on their own. If we cannot earn the seat, we should lose it.
